Job description

TMC Technologies is in search of a Systems Engineer specializing in application packaging to support our federal client. The candidate must be a US citizen and possess a Top Secret clearance with the ability to pass a CI poly to start due to federal contract requirements. The candidate will create and maintain both the thick install and virtual install application packages for COTS and GOTS products used on the FBI enterprise environments.

Currently utilized application packaging technologies include but are not limited to Microsoft Intune, Flexera Admin Studio, BigFix, and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager. This role will be part of a packaging team to support application packaging for a Windows 11 deployment as well as other commercial off the shelf products such as Chrome, Microsoft Edge based on Chromium, Adobe products and other add-ons. The Systems Engineer II (Application Packaging) will perform the following duties: - Produce functional high-level best practice standards and complicated Microsoft Windows Installer Packages at an enterprise production level.

- Apply specific desired settings using a variety of industry accepted tools with frequent low-level custom scripting. - Complete packages in a timely manner and is responsible for COTS, GOTS, and FBI developed custom applications using AdminStudio and/or InstallShield following an established process and workflow. Packaging will consist of building silent installation packages in a MSI/MST format and performing initial installation testing on Windows 11 or other Window Server 2025 before handing off to the client for user - Acceptance testing and eventual deployment through Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, BigFix, or Microsoft Intune.

- Produce functional high level best practice standards and complicated Microsoft Windows Installer Packages at an enterprise production level - Apply specific desired settings using a variety of industry accepted tools with frequent low level custom scripting - Perform enterprise application discovery with experienced developers and inexperienced requestors to obtain requirements, settings and preferences - Deliver estimated package completion dates with regular activity, status and progress reporting for electronic delivery - Prepare, build, update and maintain a repeatable clean initial virtual machine base work environment from which to launch and initiate packaging builds - Automate the work environment to include the configuration of tools with necessary merge modules and additional specific company global settings - Create a high volume of conflict free, validated, advertised, rollback enabled, just in time, and error free restorable packages certified for delivery through the system configuration management server - Possess extensive scripting experience using CScript, WSscript, VBScript, and/or PowerShell - Possess extensive knowledge and experience using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager - Develop and follow Enterprise Change Management procedures for testing applications prior to deployment - Document the customizations and changes made during the packaging process - Participate in the preparation of materials and oral presentations for customers and management - Continually transition knowledge to the government staff through training and assistance on how to use the technology using industry best practices Job Requirements US Citizenship and active Top Secret clearance required; ability to obtain SCI and a CI poly are required Application packaging experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred Experience using at least one of the following: Flexera AdminStudio, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM or SCCM), Microsoft Intune, or BigFix Knowledge of PowerShell and/or equivalent automation/scripting language such as Bash, Python, or the Windows Command Prompt required.
