Role and Responsibilities

  • Will be involved throughout the estimating, bidding, vendor and subcontractor proposal review and purchasing processes.
  • Ability to develop detailed quantity take-offs.
  • Develop bid packages / contract scopes of work for subcontractors, evaluate subcontractor bids and issue contracts.
  • Collects project data and compares to the office’s capabilities.
  • Performs new equipment takeoffs.
  • Prepares equipment submittals.
  • Assists Managers and Project Managers with technical support.
  • Performs construction plan review or other requirements as determined by project needs, constraints, and responsibilities to meet all of the customer’s facility requirements.
  • Provides knowledge and consultation in the form of developing facility-related solutions for the customer’s problems. Determines project needs, constraints, and responsibilities to meet the entire customer’s Building system design and installation requirements.
  • Develops, evaluates, and discusses possible solutions with Manager, Project Manager, Sub-contractor, Supplier, and/or customer.
  • Coordinates selection, pricing, and integrates equipment, controls, and services for each project.
  • Prepares, finalizes, and reviews preliminary and/or final proposal / submittal complete.
  • Helps Manager determine proposal price and selling strategy.
  • Resolves major deviations from scope with team after Project Scope Validation.
  • Helps Manager develop project fulfillment schedule with project team.
  • Prepares and reviews contract terms and conditions using standard contract templates when applicable.
  • Works with team members to solicit proper expertise in order to meet customer needs.
  • Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience (10 years preferred) in the plumbing industry and at least 3 years of estimating experience
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints and construction plans and specifications.
  • Ability to understanding plumbing principles, concepts, and perform calculations
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office related products.
  • Regular and supervisory probation period required, if applicable.
  • Random drug testing required.
  • Must successfully pass a background check & drug test.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
  • Physical Demands: Constant sitting, walking short distances, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching above and/or below shoulder, handling/grasping documents or office equipment, clear speaking and adequate hearing sufficient to communicate effectively and respond appropriately in-person and/or on the telephone, vision sufficient to read source materials and computer screen data, repetitive motions for computer equipment use, lift 25 lbs. occasionally, 5-10 lbs frequently to lift/carry/move objects, files and documents.

Work Environment: Work is performed in an office environment with air conditioning and bright lights.
