Title: Maintenance Technician Level I

Location: Pompano Beach, Fl (On-site)

Compensation: $18.00 per hour

THE POSITION: Maintenance Technician Level I

Maintenance Technician I performs basic maintenance and repair tasks under supervision. This role focuses on learning equipment, safety procedures, and preventative maintenance practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform basic preventative maintenance (PMs):
    • Cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting equipment.
    • Assisting with part replacements (belts, blades, hoses).
  • Assist in repairing machinery and equipment.
  • Perform basic facility maintenance (painting, minor repairs).
  • Follow safety procedures and report hazards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Learn to read basic technical manuals and drawings.
  • Support senior technicians in troubleshooting tasks.
  • Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities.
  • Communicate constantly with supervisor regarding issues that may come up at work.
  • Communicate any problems which arise to the supervisor.
  • Train subordinate employees on job skills and company policies and procedures. Provide training to other technicians in various disciplines as needed.
  • Maintain tools and spare parts available.
  • Actively participate in team meetings.
  • Complete all Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks on or before scheduled deadlines.
  • Regularly perform 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) in your work area.
  • Always wear the required PPE at all times.
  • Support all manufacturers in Florida.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 02 years of experience (manufacturing or maintenance preferred).
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
  • Ability to use ladders, scissor lifts, wave lift and Forklift license are required.
  • Strong written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Detailed and results oriented.
  • English language skills are required; Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible and/or extended/Saturday hours depending on demands.
  • Ability to climb and move around machinery.
  • Ability to kneel, stand or bend and be able to lift 50+ pounds.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Must be honest, have a positive attitude, be respectful, dependable, have a good attitude and a proven record of reliability (2+ years at previous jobs). Ability to understand written work direction.
  • Provide training to other technicians in various disciplines as needed.
