Job Description
Complete all assigned general maintenance work orders that include, but are not limited to, rough and finish carpentry, door and window repair, ceiling and drywall repair, brick and mortar repair, and any other structural related repairs to buildings and grounds. Provide excellent customer service to any and all parties involved with the execution of assigned tasks. Complete all tasks in a clean and professional manner while adhering to the University's code of ethics and Service Standards at all times.

Considerable knowledge of the materials, methods, tools and equipment used in building maintenance. Proficient skill in the use of a variety of related diagnostic tools, instruments, equipment, hand & power tools. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair problems to structural building components and grounds independently. Demonstrated ability to perform skilled repair and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to, carpentry, drywall finishing and door repairs. Demonstrated ability to work independently or in groups. Demonstrated ability to read and write; to estimate materials needed for repair/maintenance, as well as the associated costs, using arithmetic.
Special licenses, registration or certification
Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
Education or training
High School Diploma or equivalent and/or combination of experience and training in skilled trade/craft.
Level and type of experience
Considerable experience in a related variety of skilled trades areas. Basic experience performing skilled work in carpentry and drywall repair. Some experience estimating project time and materials appropriately.
Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)
Considerable experience in the construction and maintenance field with an emphasis in carpentry and drywall repairs/finishing. Basic experience installing and repairing all types of doors. Some experience installing/repairing ceiling grids, brick & mortar, aluminum framing, doors and windows in commercial buildings.
Conditions of Employment
In-person reporting. This position is not eligible for telework under any circumstance.
Facilities Management employees are considered essential personnel and subject to working during university closings.
