The Opportunity:
As the Wind Tunnel Engineer for CACI, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise within onsite aerodynamic laboratories while contributing to long-range technical goals.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate with customers to define test requirements, schedules, and technical approaches.
Lead wind-tunnel model design, fabrication, instrumentation, and installation using mechanical-design expertise and CATIA.
Oversee test execution, drive continuous improvement of test quality, hardware capability, and laboratory processes.
Maintain and enhance custom LabVIEW-based software, supporting data-acquisition, motion-control, and pressure-measurement systems.
Plan and track project performance, budgets, and schedules while ensuring rigorous safety compliance.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government Secret security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Experience working in high tech lab testing environment.
Knowledge and drive to enhance management of test projects.
Desired:
Knowledge of Data Acquisition Systems, primarily focused on the acquisition of data from pressure transducers, strain gages, and temperature probes.
Knowledge of National Instruments LABVIEW to maintain and develop new capabilities.
Willing to work hands-on in a laboratory environment.
Experience with Matlab.
Experience with 3-D Solid Modeling CAD systems.
Experience in instrumentation design and installation.
Highly motivated individual with the ability to learn continuously and the ability to identify multiple avenues to successfully reach team goals.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to develop clear technical presentations for customers and suppliers.
Microsoft Office Skills - Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Project.
