Job description

JOB SUMMARY: The job involves reviewing and designing electrical projects, supervising maintenance and safety compliance across multiple Willis Knighton facilities, and coordinating with external engineering and architecture firms to ensure projects meet maintenance and safety standards. Additionally, the role requires maintaining facility records, and acting as a representative during major construction projects, all while adhering to safety and quality initiatives.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to Hospital Engineer
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reviews engineering aspects of future hospital electrical projects.
  • Design in-house electrical projects that do not require the coordination of a consulting engineer.
  • Review maintenance schedules and procedures for Willis Knighton Medical Center, Willis Knighton South, Wills Knighton Bossier, WK Pierremont and WK Rehabilitation Institute.
  • Supervise maintenance projects, Arc flash & electrical circuit coordination studies.
  • Coordinates with consulting engineering and architect firms on projects to assure that maintenance considerations are addressed.
  • Maintains Facility Drawing Records for all buildings and coordinates all Record Drawing for Joint Commission compliance. (required Auto CAD experience)
  • Maintains electrical panel schedule and on-line program. (required electrical distribution knowledge)
  • Coordinates with consultants to maintain electrical system compliance.
  • Coordinates facility safety requirements of governing bodies such as state and local Fire Marshall and Joint Commission, etc.
  • Provides ownership representation during major construction projects.
  • Safety responsibilities limited to facility related areas.
  • Safety responsibilities limited to Willis Knighton, Willis Knighton South and Willis Knighton Bossier, WK Pierremont and WK Rehabilitation Institute.
  • Attends and fully participates in the Willis Knighton Health Safety Committee.
  • Compliance with the policies and procedures of the Willis Knighton Health Code of Conduct and service quality standards.
  • Compliance with patient safety and quality initiatives as appropriate for job description.
  • Employee consistently and effectively uses the C.I. CARE framework when interacting with patients, guests and colleague.
  • Frequent local travel between facilities in the Shreveport-Bossier area.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction related field, such as Electrical Engineering.
Experience: 36 months as a maintenance engineer.
Other requirements:
  • Experience in construction drawing interpretations and shop drawing review process.
  • Experience with Microsoft Access, helping in analyze large amounts of information and manage related data efficiently, Creating custom databases, efficient data entry, ability to import, alter, export data, minimize data errors and provide a stronger security protection.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, WORD, TEAMS, AutoCAD drawing files and plotter setup and maintenance.
  • Protection of Electrical equipment knowledge demonstrated through either work experience or passing scores on college-level courses covering the subject.
  • Coordination & Modeling of power system knowledge demonstrated through either work experience or passing scores on college-level courses covering the subject.
  • Electrical distribution knowledge.
