The Wilderness Resort is seeking hardworking, dependable, enthusiastic, customer service driven individuals to join our fast-paced team! Employees have access to great benefits, amenity usage, and so much more!
The Kitchen Lead position assists in directing daily culinary operations to ensure high-quality food, service excellence, and efficient kitchen performance in compliance with company standards. This role oversees kitchen staff, supports training and inventory processes, ensures food safety and sanitation compliance, and works closely with culinary leadership to maintain consistency, cost control, and exceptional guest satisfaction.
This is a full-time position with day, night and weekend availability.
Essential duties and tasks of the position include but are not limited to:
  • Assist in directing daily culinary operations, including opening and closing procedures, to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met.
  • Supervise, train, and support all kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers, ensuring understanding of job expectations and company policies.
  • Monitor daily performance through observation and coaching to ensure adherence to service, productivity, and quality standards.
  • Work closely with the Chef de Cuisine and Kitchen Supervisor to ensure recipe compliance, food quality, cost control, waste reduction, and adherence to sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Assist with ordering food and supplies, vendor coordination, and completion of monthly inventory counts.
  • Demonstrate full proficiency in all kitchen positions and culinary duties.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding operational needs, concerns, and performance feedback, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Ensure food is prepared and handled in a clean, safe, and hygienic environment at all times.
  • Comply with all internal controls, company, departmental, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist in addressing staff concerns and issues in collaboration with culinary leadership.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
