Job description

Intern, Social Media - $16.37 per hour
Position Summary: The Intern, Social Media supports the Minnesota Wild's digital presence by assisting with content creation, scheduling, and daily maintenance for all Minnesota Wild ancillary social media accounts as well as occasional support on main Minnesota Wild social media channels. This role also represents the brand at community events, foundation initiatives, and game nights, capturing engaging moments that connect with fans across platforms. By contributing to consistent and on-brand content, the Intern, Social Media helps strengthen fan engagement and reinforces the organization's community-focused mission.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
  • Attend a variety of events to support community engagement and brand activation initiatives, including but not limited to:
    • Community events
    • Foundation events
    • Player hospital visits
    • Brand activation initiatives (pregame parties, etc.)
    • Home games (as needed)
  • Schedule and post content for all Minnesota Wild ancillary social media accounts to ensure timely and consistent engagement, including:
    • Wild Gives Back
    • MN Wild Pup
    • Wild on 7th (as needed)
    • Hockey Day Minnesota (as needed)
  • Perform daily maintenance all Minnesota Wild ancillary social media accounts to maintain accuracy and brand consistency, including:
    • Wild Gives Back
    • MN Wild Pup
    • Wild on 7th
    • Hockey Day Minnesota
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
Formal Education & Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Film/Digital Cinematography, Creative Writing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Knowledge & Experience:
  • Experience and knowledge of social media platforms (X, Facebook, and Instagram specifically required).
  • Experience capturing engaging content (camera knowledge, including iPhone videos).
  • Experience editing photo/video content (using Premier Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom).
  • Experience with social media scheduling services (Sprout Social and/or Hootsuite preferred).
  • Experience with project management system (Wrike preferred).

Personal Attributes:
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Enthusiastic to learn, sleeves and contribute wherever needed with a positive attitude.
  • Strategically minded and able to take initiative with little direction.

Work Conditions:
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed for games and events.
  • Physical requirements include sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, lifting, grasping, etc.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
