POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cashier provides customer service and cash handling in a retail store environment. The role is expected to be a role model of the company by delivering excellent customer service while maintaining company core values.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Proven track record of providing excellent results, shows persistence and perseverance;
* Dedicated to meeting expectations of internal and external customers. Demonstrates care and compassion for people; shows empathy and concern. Able to build and maintain positive team relationships, relates well to diverse people; is approachable;
* Clearly communicates and enforces standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, store conditions and food safety;
* Ensures that all goals as a Cashier are met in regards to Bottom of the Basket;
* Participates in training for Cashier training & follows policies to include WIC, Checks, Liquor, Tobacco;
* Follows procedures for voids, refunds, transaction cancellation and all saved recall transactions;
* Responsible for personal Cashier Productivity;
* Follows WIC Compliance procedures;
* Responsible for presentation of Front End, cleaning & organization -- uniform & personal appearance of self;
* Other store duties as needed.
Customer Service:
* Demonstrates personal Customer Service excellence. Engages with customers always;
* Improves speed and efficiency of service provided.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
* Customer Service and retail experience desirable.
