HR Generalist

Help Build the Team Behind the Mission

Whalls Group is partnering with a growing organization in the corrections and public safety space to identify an HR Generalist who is passionate about people, process, and mission-driven work.

This is an opportunity to join a leadership team that believes strong organizations are built by investing in their people. The HR Generalist will play a key role in recruiting, onboarding, employee support, compliance, training, and day-to-day human resources operations.

What You'll Do

? Recruit, interview, and support candidates throughout the hiring process

? Coordinate onboarding and new employee orientation

? Serve as a trusted resource for employees and supervisors

? Support employee relations, investigations, and workplace concerns

? Assist with benefits administration, leave requests, and HR compliance

? Maintain employee records and HR systems

? Support training, performance management, and employee development initiatives

? Prepare reports, track HR metrics, and assist with audits

? Help foster a positive, professional, and people-focused workplace culture

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of Human Resources experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally
  • Experience with HRIS, payroll, or applicant tracking systems preferred
  • Sound judgment, attention to detail, and a service-oriented mindset

Bonus Points For

  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certification
  • Experience in corrections, public safety, healthcare, government contracting, nonprofit, or other mission-driven environments
  • Experience supporting multi-site or shift-based workforces

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $76,000 annually
