Whale information

What are some common challenges marine biologists face when studying whales in their natural habitat?

Marine biologists studying whales often encounter challenges such as unpredictable weather conditions, difficulty in tracking and locating the animals over vast ocean areas, and limitations in close observation due to the whales’ migratory patterns. Gathering accurate data can require long periods at sea and reliance on advanced technology like satellite tags and hydrophones. Additionally, ensuring minimal disturbance to the whales while conducting research is crucial for both ethical and scientific reasons.

Because of their substantial holdings, whales have the power to influence market prices through their buying or selling activities. Their trades can cause significant price swings, and their behavior is closely watched by other traders and investors.
