Job Summary

The prime function of the Warehouse Associate is to provide support to the supply chain though safely collecting, loading, shipping and receiving warehouse products. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating technical equipment, optimizing loading for efficient logistics and supporting other warehouse functions to ensure optimal operation of the business. Candidates are responsible for operating a forklift SAFELY and move manufactured parts throughout the facility. There will be physical lifting of manufacturing merchandise that weighs up to 50 lbs. The ideal candidate for this position will be motivated to stay and grow with Palmetto Gourmet Foods for years to come. Flexibility with schedules, work days, and shift preference is required.


Warehouse Associate Job Duties:

• Safety first.

• Maintain production and inventory reports using Microsoft Dynamics Business Central system, scanners or by manual entries.

• Bring material to the production line while tracking movement in the ERP system.

• Prepare documentation for contracts, transactions, or regulatory compliance.

• Package objects for shipping.

• Stock supplies or merchandise.

• Manually Unload materials or equipment.

• Read work orders to determine material or setup requirements.

• Store items or palletize individual items as needed.

• Inspect items for damage or defects.

• Record shipping information.

• Attach identification information to products, items or containers.

• Receive shipments and complete all documentation.

• Discuss goods or services information with customers.

• Inspect shipments to ensure correct order fulfillment.

• Must maintain a clean work area at all times.

• Work as directed by Management; report all issues to management

• Deliver items.

• Monitor inventories of products or materials.

• Perform inventory cycles as needed, reconcile counts and report results to WH Mgr

• Adhere to current FIFO and FEFO practices when pulling raw materials or moving finished products.

• Distribute materials to employees or customers.

• Clean facilities or equipment.

• Store records or related materials.

• Remove debris or damaged materials.

• Send information, materials or documentation.

• Maintain operational records.

• Operate forklifts or other loaders.

• Service and maintain forklifts.

• Operate/Work with automated equipment/machinery to complete assigned tasks.

• Receives and unload incoming material AND pick & pack outgoing materials and compare information on packing slips with purchase orders to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers.

• Inspect shipments for damages or defects; record discrepancies or damages and notifies warehouse manager and/or purchasing personnel.

• Sort, count, package, label, verify count, unpack, and/or log inventory which is shipped or received.

• Work to resolve receiving issues.

• Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and all safety regulations.

• Adhere to quality and customer service standards set forth by the company

• Conduct physical cycle counts on inventory and equipment, as required. • Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment

• Pick, wrap and stage orders to be shipped.

• Identify safety hazards in the workplace.

• Consolidate partial pallets for incoming goods.

• Other duties as assigned by Management.


Warehouse Associate & Forklift Operator Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 2+ years’ experience operating powered forklifts.

• One year of warehouse processes, receiving, and material storage using an ERP system is preferred. • High level of attention to detail and accuracy. • Familiarity with industrial equipment. • Excellent communication skills.

• Ability to work well with others in a team environment.

• Problems solving skills.

• Knowledge of various material-handling equipment an asset

• Proficient in mathematics • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently during shift. • Bending, stooping, standing, walking and climbing throughout the shift.
