Scope of Position

The goal of the Patient Facilitated Services (PFS) program is to maintain and deepen connections to those who actively support the mission of Ohio State; create lasting, mutually beneficial new relationships, impact people's lives through outstanding service to targeted populations before, during or after an encounter with the Wexner Medical Center. The Patient Navigator is responsible for delivering superior customer service at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in managing new and ongoing care for key populations in an expedited, high-touch, highly personalized and innovative way. The patient navigator reports to the Administrative Director.

Position Summary

The Patient Facilitated Services Patient Navigator is responsible assisting in the coordination and relationship management of the healthcare concierge program, which serves unique target audiences. This includes facilitating ambulatory care, navigating the health system, visiting patients, and addressing a host of other needs at the highest level of customer service. The patient navigator participates in the entire spectrum of Patient Facilitated Services responsibilities, transfers knowledge, and leverages all PFS staff to appropriately serve unique audiences for which he or she is the point of contact. This position serves Ohio State strategic initiatives in both business and fundraising development and is a liaison with the Ohio State Office of Development for principal and major donor level grateful patient stewardship, as well as the Ohio State Office of Government Relations and other externally facing offices. This position is a key ambassadorship role at Ohio State and the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of academic institutions and/or academic medical centers and how they work.

  • Strong appreciation for and ability to consistently provide the highest level of customer service.
