Description

Come work for America's Master Craftsmen in Restoration and Preservation! Western Specialty Contractors is currently looking for self-motivated, top notch individuals to help serve our customers as a Skilled Caulker at our Des Moines, IA branch. If you are a self-motivated individual with great work ethic and the personality to help with customer satisfaction, then we would love to meet you!

As a member of the branch production team, you will be responsible for the performance of work within a particular work area and in accordance with generally accepted standards of the crafts. Experienced skilled laborers are all encouraged to Apply!

  • Cut out sealant, pack and shoot new sealant at a high quality.
  • Masonry caulking
  • Doubt tee parking garage caulking.
  • Window perimeter caulking.
  • Control joint caulking
  • Window wet sealing
  • Perform all window perimeter sealant replacement.
  • Rigging.
  • Working on scaffolding.

Requirements

To be qualified for this role, experience in a trade or craft is preferred. To be considered, you:

  • Must be able to demonstrate sufficient reading, writing and math skills to comprehend and explain company safety policies and material instruction.
  • Must be lift certified.
  • Must be comfortable working at heights.
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in high temperatures.
  • Must be able to use logical step-by-step procedures in working with different materials using a variety of skills.
  • Must be able to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy and be able to judge straight lines, spaces and proportions.
  • Must be able to demonstrate sufficient reading, writing and math skills to comprehend and explain company safety policies and material instruction.
  • Must have the ability to read drawings
  • Identify existing and predictable hazards in work surroundings, including working conditions that are unsanitary, hazardous or dangerous to employees.
  • Must be able to: Stand or walk for long periods; lift and carry materials weighing 50 pounds or more; climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolds and other objects and carry tools and equipment; and see well (either naturally or with correction).
  • Must be able to work at heights and at extreme temperatures, and wear company's safety equipment.
  • Practical caulking experience preferred.
  • Must have own "hand tools of the trade."
  • May be required to work weekends, nights, and out of town.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Compensation for this role is determined using a variety of factors, including experience, skills, internal equity, market benchmarks, and the cost of labor in the different geographic locations where we operate. In addition to base pay, this position may also be eligible for:

  • Beneficial ownership in the Company through Western's Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

US Pay Range
$25—$27 USD
