The opportunity

Delaware North Gaming is hiring full-time and part-time Laundry Workers to join our team at Wheeling Island Casino in Wheeling, West Virginia. As a Laundry Worker, you will be responsible for operating large commercial washers and dryers according to safety standards and will be engaged with collaborative team members around you.

Pay $14.50 - $14.50 / hour

What will you do?
  • Communicate with the Office Coordinator or the Laundry Supervisor regarding Housemen's needs for linens 
  • Operate and tend the machines, including washing and drying articles, such as sheets, draperies, linens, and carpets, ensuring the correct volume of detergent, water, bleach, starch, and other additives are used as needed
  • Sort, count, and put away articles removed from dryers, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the laundry closet
  • Inspect soiled articles to determine sources of stains, locate color imperfections, and to identify items requiring special treatment
  • Iron or press articles, fabrics, banquet linens, napkins, spa linens using hand irons or pressing machines
  • Record all loads washed and dried to calculate productivity, including loss of linens due to stains, tears, and wear

  • Ability to work effectively with others in fast-paced environments, using effective communication skills with guests and team members
  • Basic math skills
  • Laundry worker experience in a hotel or other high-volume location is beneficial
  • No experience or diploma required
Physical requirements
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, depending on the weather and how many machines are in operation at any given time
  • Frequent standing, bending, walking, and lifting during shifts
