Job Description

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Psychiatrist to join our collaborative behavioral health team at Wellstar Cobb Hospital, a leading community hospital dedicated to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. This is an outstanding opportunity for a psychiatrist who enjoys practicing at the intersection of medicine and psychiatry while working alongside multidisciplinary medical and surgical teams in a dynamic inpatient setting.

Position Highlights

  • Full-time inpatient Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry position
  • Provide psychiatric consultation services for hospitalized patients on medical, surgical, ICU, and emergency department units
  • Collaborate closely with hospitalists, intensivists, surgeons, neurologists, and other specialty providers
  • Evaluate and manage a broad range of psychiatric conditions, including:
    • Delirium
    • Depression and anxiety
    • Substance use disorders
    • Capacity assessments
    • Agitation and behavioral disturbances
    • Psychosis
    • Catatonia
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and care coordination
  • Utilize Epic electronic medical record system
  • Opportunity to mentor medical students and residents through Wellstar's academic partnerships
  • Strong support from behavioral health leadership and integrated care teams

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted Georgia medical license
  • Fellowship training or experience in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry is preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care
