Job description

This is a Cactus International position and is located in Aberdeen, Scotland. 

Job Summary:  A Field Specialist (FS) 1-3 should be competent in his main Product Category (Wellheads, Controls or Trees/Completions etc.  The level of competence for each level 1-3 is defined in the FSE Competency Matrix. Essentially a FS 1 will be competent in one core product group (e.g. MS700), a FS2 competent in two Product groups (e.g. MS700 & MS800) and a FS3 competent in all Product groups within his discipline. Provide technical onsite direction and assistance to the customer in the Operation, Maintenance, Repair and Installation of Wellheads, X-trees and other Cactus Wellhead related equipment within the employee’s discipline.   Provide communication to onshore support and the customer regarding all program activities and problems through accurate, regular and timely reporting.

Essential Functions, Roles, and Responsibilities: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.

  • Inventory control of Cactus Wellhead related equipment offshore.
  • Control, Function test, Repair and reporting of necessary maintenance of delivered or rented equipment.
  • Perform all Pressure testing in line with installation and maintenance procedures.
  • Assist and perform preparation of work, status or problem reports to customer or project.
  • Assist in planning of shipping Cactus Wellhead equipment from offshore or customer site.
  • Assist and perform stack-up testing.
  • Assist and Perform Failure investigations and review of NPT occurrences
  • Assist Engineering/Project Managers with preparation of procedures if requested.
  • Lead and assist workshop personnel if requested
  • Assist with preparation of Maintenance procedures, if requested.
  • Comply with & promote Company and Regulatory HSE requirements and procedures
  • Comply with & promote Company and Regulatory Quality Management systems
  • Participate in Reviews of Operation and Maintenance manuals
  • Participate in preparation of Installation procedures and Stack-up Testing programs.
  • Ensure the Daily Operation Report is updated and handover to relevant offshore personnel
  • Make sure relevant equipment and tools are checked out and available.
  • Work onshore when requested by Field Service Supervisor
  • Have a proactive approach to allocated tasks, taking ownership of all aspects of the job: Equipment; Spares; Reviewing job history/lessons learned
  • The job is of an Ad-hoc nature and the FSE will be expected to be flexible in their approach to irregular working patterns.
  • Works safely at all times and able to deliver excellent Customer Satisfaction

 

Education, Training, Experience:

  • At least 2-3 years relevant experience
  • Completed Training courses appropriate to FSE grade
  • Good knowledge of appropriate Cactus Wellhead products and equipment.
  • Fully competent with all Cactus Wellhead Digital processes e.g. GRID, NPT/SIRCam/Agility/EPIMS/Zinc etc
  • Ideally have experience from several Offshore Installations and with a basic knowledge of the different working routines of typical Operating companies
  • Has completed approved Safety Training as required

 

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Relevant Technical Education/Apprenticeship Certificate

 

Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Skilled at discussing technical problems and solutions with the Customer
  • Skilled and confident to perform Troubleshooting and Repair work
  • Working Proficiency in written & spoken English
  • Knowledge of Drilling and Production processes related to Cactus Wellhead tools.
  • Familiar with Offshore Installation processes.
  • Knowledge of Drilling Operations.
  • Able to follow Procedures e.g. Operating Service Procedures (OSP) and Project Related Procedures (PRP).
  • PC/Digital device literate.
  • Ability to use Word/Excel and web-based programs
