Job description

This position will travel to oil and gas well sites to operate and maintain oil and gas wells at the surface level.

Minimum Qualifications for a Well Pumper:

  • Must be physically fit and able to climb and work at heights
  • Ability to do physical labor for long hours in all types of weather
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather
  • Ability to lift in excess of 75 pounds
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass our background check and drug screen
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable under our company policy, must be 21 years of age

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Monitor the day-to-day operations of oil and gas wells.
  • Operate timer controller that opens and closes valves manually.
  • Manually operate valves, chokes, regulators, and dump control valve to ensure that materials are being pumped at the correct pressure, density, rate and concentration.
  • Operate engines and pumps in order to shut off wells according to production schedules, and to switch flow of oil into storage tanks.
  • Walk pipelines to line locate
  • Changing gas flow charts
  • Gauging tanks
  • Scheduling water and oil pick up
  • Attach pumps and hoses to wellheads.
  • Spraying and weed trimming well sites
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair on all well equipment:
  • Regular attendance consistent with the Company Attendance Policy.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

  • Repair gas and oil meters and gauges
