Job description

SHOP LABORER

Location:

Sterling, Virginia

Shift:

Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

Pay Rate:

$17.00 / hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable Shop Laborer to support daily fabrication and general labor activities in a fast‐paced shop environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‐on work, learning new skills, and contributing to a team that builds and prepares materials for welding, fabrication, and production. Candidates must have reliable transportation, valid ID, and composite‐toe or steel‐toe shoes. One in‐person interview is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist shop employees with general labor and fabrication tasks
  • Load, unload, move, and organize materials, tools, and equipment
  • Prepare materials for welding, cutting, grinding, and other shop processes
  • Operate basic hand and power tools as directed
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, equipment, and shop spaces
  • Measure, cut, drill, grind, and perform other basic shop tasks as trained
  • Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE
  • Help maintain inventory of materials and supplies
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, and staging materials
  • Support welders, fabricators, and supervisors with daily shop activities
  • Perform additional general labor duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous shop, warehouse, construction, manufacturing, or fabrication experience is helpful but not required
  • Ability to work safely around machinery, tools, steel, and other materials
  • Ability to lift and move materials as required
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take direction
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is a plus
  • Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment

  • Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
