What is a welding shop helper?

Welding Shop Helpers are entry-level workers who assist welders and fabricators in a welding shop. Their duties often include preparing materials, moving heavy objects, cleaning work areas, and setting up or dismantling equipment. They help ensure that welders have the tools and materials they need, contributing to the efficiency and safety of the shop. Welding Shop Helpers may also learn basic welding techniques on the job, making this role a common starting point for those interested in a welding career.

What does a welding shop helper do?

As a Welding Shop Helper, your daily tasks usually include preparing and organizing materials for welders, maintaining a clean and safe workspace, and assisting with moving heavy components or finished products.
