Plate Welder – Pipe Welding | X-Ray Quality

Location: Houston, TX 77039
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Pay: $24.00–$30.00/hour, based on experience and skill level
Job Type: Full-Time

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Plate Welder with pipe welding and X-ray quality experience to join a growing industrial operation in North Houston.

The ideal candidate is a skilled, dependable welder who can work independently once qualified and consistently produce high-quality welds that meet required specifications. Candidates must be able to pass a hands-on weld test.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform plate welding according to job specifications and welding procedures
  • Run and weld pipe work independently once qualified
  • Produce X-ray quality welds that meet required inspection standards
  • Perform proper fit-up, preparation, and welding process control
  • Read, understand, and follow welding procedures, specifications, and work instructions
  • Inspect work for weld quality, consistency, and appearance
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship
  • Follow all shop, site, and safety procedures
  • Communicate effectively with leads, supervisors, and other team members
  • Complete assigned work safely and efficiently
Required Qualifications
  • Previous professional plate welding experience
  • Previous pipe welding experience
  • Demonstrated experience producing X-ray quality welds
  • Ability to pass a weld skill test
  • Experience with applicable welding processes, including MIG
  • Ability to read and follow welding procedures and specifications
  • Strong attention to fit-up, preparation, weld appearance, and overall quality
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently after qualification
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current or previous welding certifications
  • Experience working in an industrial, fabrication, manufacturing, or similar shop environment
  • Documented welding experience demonstrating pipe, plate, and X-ray quality work
Pre-Employment Requirements

Selected candidates must successfully complete:

  • Any additional required site compliance screenings
