Who You Are

The FCAW Arc Welder 1G/3G constructs, fits, and welds components using drawings and pre-cut parts. You must be capable of reading drawings, weld symbols, and weld procedures. These must be assembled and welded per stringent quality standards and meet all specified codes. The use of all basic steel fabrication tools is needed and expected.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare posts, frames, rails, or assembles for welding
  • Verify all dimensions with the approved shop drawings
  • Verify welding is in accordance with the specific codes and weld procedures
  • Adjust welding equipment as needed
  • Make fixtures as necessary to improve productivity
  • Make backing bars if needed
  • Perform welds as specified and directed by your supervisor
  • Clean and prepare finished products for inspection
  • Keep your personal tools and assigned tools and equipment in proper working order
  • Communicate with your supervisor
  • Work must be completed in a timely manner consistent with the best in the industry
Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required

  • FCAW 1G or 3G experience
  • Interpret weld procedures
  • Ability to be crane certified
  • Ability to be forklift certified
  • Understand AWS codes and procedures
  • Must be able to read and utilize a measuring tape
  • Able to sit 2% of the time
  • Able to Stand 90% of the time
  • Able to walk 30% of the time
  • Lift up to 75 pounds 10% of the time

Environment

This job requires outdoor work and indoor in all weather conditions with extreme temperatures. Majority of work is done indoors in a heated area.


Day Schedule: M-Th 6am - 4:30pm, Fri 6am - 2:30pm (Saturday's as needed)

Night Schedule: M-Th 4pm - 2:30am, Fri 2pm - 10:30pm (Saturday as needed)


Starting Pay: 1G $18.36 - $26.65 DOE +OT ($4.00/hr night differential)


Starting Pay: 3G $19.38 - $29.26 DOE +OT ($4.00/hr night differential)
