Job Description:

Fabricate misc. steel pipe and mechanical supports according to shop drawings or engineering details utilizing FCAW or SMAW welding processes and performing these duties in a safe and timely manner with the highest quality possible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties using FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) or SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding).
  • Perform welds in flat (1G), horizontal (2G), and vertical (3G) positions. (Ability to perform overhead (4G) a plus).
  • Read and understand shop fabrication drawings.
  • Read and understand engineering details.
  • Ability to fabricate and assemble weldments from shop drawings and sketches.
  • Weldments will be in conformance with AWS D1.1
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand and reach repetitively.
  • Operate Various Equipment and Machinery (Grinders, Saws, Drill Press, Forklift, etc.)
  • Keep a Clean and Organized Workplace
  • Utilize personal protective equipment such as masks, welding helmets, welding sleeves, gloves, steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, etc.
  • Confidently convert fractions to decimal equivalents on the spot as needed.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace.


KEY SKILLS:

· AWS D1.1 Structural Steel Certification with FCAW and SMAW
