Senior Aerospace Welder


Are you looking to work for a company that provides an innovative work environment, and your voice is heard? We have multiple roles for Senior Aerospace Welders to work on a 2nd shift. These roles are in Santa Ana CA and Lake Orion MI and the hours are from 430PM to 100AM. Overtime is expected.


UPDATE: Must have strong TIG welding experience.

What you will be doing:

  • Work under direct supervision performing fitting and welding of steel, aluminum, and Invar 36 parts using MIG/TIG processes.
  • Set up welding machines based on the specifications of the job.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine specific welding requirements.
  • MIG/TIG weld steel, aluminum, and Invar 36 components based on the specifications of blueprints and/or drawings.
  • Repair broken or damaged parts.
  • Fabricate and revise fixtures, jigs, gauges, hand appliances, and special tooling and components.
  • Keep work area clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
  • Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Perform any additional duties as reasonably assigned by management.
  • Work with safe manufacturing processes; mandatory safety eyewear required in the manufacturing area.
  • Safety shoes are recommended in the manufacturing area.


What you'll need to be successful:

Essential:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience with steel, aluminum, and/or Invar 36.
  • Experience with MIG and TIG welding.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, calipers, and tape measures.
  • This position must meet Export Control Compliance requirements; a 'U.S. Person' as defined by 22 C.F.R. is required.
  • May be required to travel to other site locations during the workday; travel is primarily local during the business day, though some projects may require overnight stays and out-of-the-area travel paid for by the business.
  • May be required to work weekends to meet department and business demands.
  • Must be able to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to see, talk, hear, touch, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to frequently walk and stand for short periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 35 lbs; occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • No supervisory responsibility.


Preferred:

  • Ability to effectively handle tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work varied shifts, overtime, and weekends when necessary.
  • Confidence in leading processes and projects; actively looks for opportunities.
  • Ability to work with the management team to help drive performance of the location.
  • Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance: not required, but candidates with a current or previous clearance, or who are willing to obtain and maintain one for the duration of employment, are preferred.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of relevant work experience and/or completion of a certificate program in welding from a college or technical school.
