Job description

At Trident Maritime Systems - Heavy Equipment Group, we don't just build systems-we build careers. As a leader in the marine and defense industry, we're looking for innovative, forward-thinking professionals who are ready to take on complex challenges and deliver real-world solutions.
We are currently seeking a Welder in our Iron River, MI plant location. While using your weld experience and/or weld certification, you will have the ability to grow through our 90-day weld training program to perform welding and fabrication tasks assigned while following Trident Maritime Systems- HEG processes with supervision. This position will demonstrate safety in the workplace and be proficient at following and looking up weld procedures, work instructions and inspection criteria while meeting routed hours with acceptable quality.
MAJOR DUTIES:
  • Weld and fabricate basic to moderately advanced weldments with minimal quality errors (as outlined in the LSSI stamping discipline procedure)
  • Work from drawings and blueprints, read weld symbols and perform quality checks throughout the process
  • Perform crane operations and rigging - proficient at moving/flipping weldment using 2 cranes
  • Operate hand burn plasma and torch
  • Understand and apply weld sequencing
  • Perform heat straightening techniques
  • Skills Placement after 90 days training
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • HS graduate or Equivalent.
  • Welding experience and/or completion of Welding Program or Welding Certification strongly desired

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 60 pounds.
  • Long periods of standing.
