Job description

Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of golf cars, utility and personal transportation
vehicles, professional turf-care equipment, and ground support equipment. Textron Specialized Vehicles markets
products under several different brands. Its vehicles are found in environments ranging from golf courses to
factories, airports to planned communities, and theme parks to hunting preserves.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine the proper and efficient approach to fabricate a requested part or assembly.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and participate in continuous improvement projects for 5S and safety.
  • Operate and maintain MIG/TIG welding equipment for carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum welding.
  • Communicate with work order requestors (engineers/managers) to define goals and ensure alignment on objectives and functionality of prototypes.
  • Ensures quality of work prior to completing work order action closures.
  • Assist in training team and engineering department members utilizing existing SOP's (Standard operating procedures) and assist in creating new procedures as required.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance and inspections on equipment as required.
  • Operate or learn to operate shop equipment including bandsaws, lathe, mill, drill press, shear with growth opportunity to operate advanced equipment such as CNC.
     

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Years of Experience: 4 of more years of experience required; welding certification preferred.
  • Software Knowledge: Proficient in reading engineering drawings; Microsoft Office application skills preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license
  • experience with fabrication techniques and hand tools required.
