Job Summary

Directly responsible for managing assigned sales territory(s) and meeting/exceeding annual sales budget and target accounts. Function as a team by working closely with the Branch Manager and other branch associates.

Maintain technical competency in welding processes and gas applications to enable success in selling our product line. Be organized by establishing an annual plan including top-tier target accounts and submitting weekly call reports. Promote the Keen brand to internal and external customers through professionalism, responsiveness, and total customer service.

Job Responsibilities

  • Call on established accounts as frequently as deemed necessary to service their needs.
  • Make cold calls on perspective accounts
  • Sell complete line of welding supplies & gases. Suggest equipment upgrades & gas mode changes as customer usage warrants.
  • Sales within company pricing guidelines.
  • Become technically competent in welding process & gas applications through company sponsored schools & vendor training.
  • Prepare quotations and/or work with Branch Manager to generate quotes. Submit quotes on time. Acquire competitive bid information & pass on to mgt.
  • Participate in sales promotions.
  • Establish an annual plan and execute against this plan.
  • Conduct inventory checks of gas & hard goods at designated accounts on a regular basis. Place orders with branch for timely shipment.
  • Use vendors to assist with demonstrations and sales.
  • Follow through with promises and commitments.
  • Assist Branch Manager as requested. Watch store when necessary so he/she can go to the bank or handle an emergency.
  • Collect payments/ solve billing problems as requested.
  • Attend sales meetings and safety meetings.
  • Submit weekly customer activity reports on time.
  • Follow Keen and customers' safety rules.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Meet or exceed annual sales and profit goals.
  • Maintain technical competency in products we sell.
  • Achieve "Total Customer Satisfaction".
  • Maintain proper flow of paperwork. Submit reports on time.
  • Keep expenses at an acceptable level.
  • Function as a team member and be responsive to management.
  • Follow company and customer safety regulations.

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Minimum high school diploma. College degree preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous 3-5 years of outside industrial sales experience preferred.
    • Welding or gas sales experience desired.
  • Ability to think quickly and apply common sense in dealing with customers
  • Good public relation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
