To thrive as a Welder Direct, you need proficiency in welding techniques, blueprint reading, and a high school diploma or equivalent, often complemented by welding certifications such as AWS. Familiarity with welding equipment, safety protocols, and fabrication tools is typically required. Attention to detail, problem-solving, and strong hand-eye coordination are vital soft skills that help ensure precision and quality. Welders often encounter safety challenges such as exposure to intense heat, fumes, and ultraviolet light, as well as the risk of burns or electric shock. Most employers address these risks by providing comprehensive safety training, enforcing the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) like helmets, gloves, and respirators, and maintaining strict safety protocols in the work area. Regular equipment inspections and adherence to OSHA guidelines are also standard practices to minimize hazards and ensure a safe working environment for all team members.

Job description

Warehouse – Field Operations Coordinator

ABOUT ARMI

Since 2003, our family-owned business has specialized in process and utility piping, expanding into multiple business units over the years. We now offer nationwide services in Process & Utility Piping, Process Equipment & Installation, Thermal Fluid, and Industrial HVAC. As industry leaders, we maintain elite standards by hiring top talent. ARMI is known for work safety, meeting deadlines, quality production, and staying within budget. We believe in reinvesting in our people and supporting the local community—because we succeed together.

THE ROLE

As Field Operations Coordinator, you keep the machine running. You’re the operational backbone for a lean field team — the person who makes sure the right tools are staged, every employee is trained and certified, and no one steps onto a jobsite without knowing how to do it safely. This role combines three functions — warehouse, training, and safety — into one. High ownership.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

  • Inventory & materials — keeping stock accurate, deliveries verified, and jobs staged and ready to go
  • Tools & equipment — quarterly asset checks, checkout/return process, repair-vs-replace decisions
  • Fleet & vehicle support — inspections, preventive maintenance, DOT compliance, GPS/ELD recordkeeping
  • Warehouse & facility — organized, clean, safe yard and shop every single day
  • Skills testing — hands-on assessments for welding, fitting, and trade proficiency across the team
  • Training programs — building and running training that closes gaps and prepares people for the next level
  • Certifications — forklift, DOT/driver, OSHA — administered, documented, and renewed on time
  • Safety — toolbox talks, PPE compliance, incident reporting, and a culture where unsafe means stopped
  • Team guidance — no direct reports, but you set the standard for how this team operates

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, field operations, or a skilled trade environment
  • Working knowledge of inventory systems — manual and computerized
  • Hands-on familiarity with tool and equipment handling, basic vehicle maintenance, and DOT compliance
  • Experience conducting or supporting training or skills assessments in a trade setting
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Background in welding, fitting, pipefitting, or a related trade a strong plus
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and field safety compliance
  • Strong organizational skills — you manage multiple moving parts without dropping any
  • Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and take ownership without being asked
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
