POSITION SUMMARY
Position: Welder
Reports to: Operations Manager/Welding Supervisor
Location: Easley, SC
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Welder is responsible for fabricating and assembling structural steel components used in industrial racking and storage systems. This role performs MIG welding on structural components such as uprights, beams, and braces while ensuring quality standards, proper fit-up, and safe work practices. The Welder works closely with fabrication and production teams to support efficient manufacturing and maintain consistent product quality.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Welding amp; Fabrication
  • Perform MIG welding on structural steel components used in pallet racking systems.
  • Weld beams, uprights, braces, and other racking components according to blueprints and work instructions.
  • Ensure proper weld penetration, alignment, and structural integrity of all welded parts.
  • Set up and adjust welding machines based on material type and thickness.
  • Follow welding procedures and specifications to meet quality standards. ​
Production Support
  • Work with the production team to meet daily output and production goals.
  • Assist with staging, fitting, and assembling materials prior to welding.
  • Maintain workflow efficiency within the welding department.
  • Communicate any production or quality issues to supervisors.
Quality Assurance
  • Inspect welds to ensure compliance with company standards and specifications.
  • Identify defects, inconsistencies, or equipment issues.
  • Maintain consistent weld quality across production runs.
  • Follow company quality procedures and documentation requirements.
Safety amp; Compliance
  • Follow all company safety policies and welding safety procedures.
  • Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Support a safe manufacturing environment for all employees.
EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING
Required
  • 1–3+ years of MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Experience welding structural steel.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Familiarity with measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, and gauges.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
Preferred
  • Experience welding pallet racking, structural steel, or material handling equipment.
  • Previous experience in a metal fabrication or manufacturing facility.
  • Welding certification (AWS or equivalent) is a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role is based on the shop floor within a manufacturing environment. Welders works closely with welding personnel and operates in areas with heat, noise, and required PPE.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires extended periods working on the shop floor. The role includes standing, walking, bending, and lifting materials up to 50 lbs. The employee must be able to work safely in environments with heat, noise, and PPE requirements.
