Pipe Welder 1
Schedule: 4x10's M - T, 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Pipe Welder I
This position is located On-site at our Bayou La Batre, AL shipyard
Our Pipe Welders are an integral piece of our work on a daily basis. Some of your daily functions will include:
  • Weld copper-nickel alloys.
  • TIG weld in all positions.
  • Work in tight areas and perform field welding as required.
  • Notice improper fit up of pipe joints prior to welding.
  • Mirror weld.
  • Recognize different pipe alloys and rods required.
  • Know and understand proper root openings required on butt weld systems and set back requirements for socket weld systems.
  • Understand and utilize purging requirements.
  • Understand weld sizes and types (Convex & Concave)

Qualifications / Skills / Experience
  • 3 years' experience as a Pipe Welder
  • High School Diploma or a GED
  • Pass a 6G SMAW welding test with 90 days of employment.
  • Fundamental knowledge in marine or a manufacturing industry
