Job description

The purpose of the Welder position is to manufacture quality irrigation and culvert products from fabricated metal components by performing acceptable welding processes. The welder has demonstrated the ability to make stock products with limited supervision and rework.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the skills, knowledge, and proficiency necessary to make good welds as welds will be required to meet acceptable standards and will be subject to inspection.
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools correctly.
  • Must be able to run a forklift and secure a forklift license if required.
  • Must be familiar and cognizant of safety guidelines throughout the company.
  • Must maintain a good attendance and punctuality record.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints; technical and service bulletins; product specifications; and other standard operating procedures.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform and understand the setup of production jobs with the appropriate fixturing and/or tools to produce the required results.
  • Must be able to use and understand various specialized measuring tools and equipment unique to the job i.e. tape measures; levels; and degree finder.
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills, as they will interact with other departments, professional staff and management of the company.
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision and show/demonstrate initiative, tact, good judgement and sound reasoning.
  • Must be able to handle the physical requirements of the position.
