Quality Inspector (Weld / Heavy Fabrication)

Position OverviewThis is ahands-on Quality Inspector roleinside a heavy fabrication environment.
This is on the floor, inspecting large weldments, working directly with production, and catching issues before they become problems.
Must-Have- Weld inspection experience (AWS D1.1 environment)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols
- Experience in heavy fabrication / structural steel
- Strong understanding of standard + metric measurements
- Comfortable using inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, weld gauges, etc.)
- Ability to identify weld defects visually and with tools
- Inspect fabricated steel and large weldments for quality and spec compliance
- Verify weld integrity and adherence to AWS standards
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and drawings
- Document findings and create inspection reports
- Initiate and support corrective actions when needed
- Work directly with production, quality, and leadership on issues
- Use tools like fillet gauges, V-WAC gauges, calipers, micrometers, thread gauges
