Job Summary:
Under routine supervision, this position is responsible for dispatching and resolving problems for our company drivers, contracted drivers, and/or carriers. This position requires you to have exceptional proactive communication skills with internal and external customers, including promptly resolving issues with pickup and delivery, monitoring check call completion, activity documentation, and overall promoting a professional workplace attitude in a fast-paced environment.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor loads assigned to drivers, including resolving any issues that may affect the scheduled times for pickup or delivery, while proactively communicating to the affected customers; problems normally include truck mechanical problems, traffic or weather issues, or customer-directed shipment changes
  • Maintain documentation of driver detention time to ensure accurate, on-time pay
  • Maintain the company safety culture to include daily safety messages and monthly driver briefings; help enforce company policies to ensure compliance with DOT and company requirements
  • Support other team members as needed
  • Communicate in a professional, timely, and effective manner with internal and external drivers via phone calls and system messages; build and maintain a positive attitude to strengthen driver engagement to minimize turnover and improve driver satisfaction and productivity
  • Manage company equipment to improve operation efficiency and profitability through coordinating with fleet maintenance teams and previously assigned drivers to ensure vehicle readiness

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED with up to 1 year of Transportation, Customer Service, or other relevant experience
AND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences
Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums
Ability to meet or exceed driver needs to provide excellent service
Ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner
Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and shifting priorities and directives
Preferred Qualifications:
1-2 years of transportation, customer service, or other relevant experience
Shift:
  • Friday & Monday 6AM to 5PM and Saturday & Sunday 7AM to 6PM.

This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.
Compensation:
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company's bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
