Part-Time Ultrasound Sonographer - Ambulatory (Weekends)

0.40 FTE | Days | Saturday-Sunday, 9:00 AM-5:30 PM

Pay Range: $44.11 - $66.17 per hour

Job Summary
The Ultrasound Sonographer performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasound exams using independent judgment and strong technical skills. This role is responsible for capturing high-quality diagnostic images, documenting findings, and communicating results to the interpreting physician in an ambulatory clinic setting.
What You'll Do
  • Perform ultrasound exams based on provider orders and patient history
  • Capture, evaluate, and document anatomical and diagnostic information
  • Prepare preliminary findings within scope of practice for physician review
  • Communicate exam results clearly with interpreting physicians
  • Maintain daily workflow, logs, and required documentation
  • Calibrate equipment and complete quality control checks
  • Prepare exam rooms and supplies for procedures
  • Use prior imaging, labs, and medical history to optimize exams
  • Adjust exams and equipment settings for individual patient needs
  • Identify normal vs. abnormal findings within licensure scope
  • Follow department protocols and safety standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
Education
  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Sonography program or equivalent education/experience required for certification

Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of diagnostic ultrasound experience preferred (acute care or clinic setting)

Certifications & Credentials
Required at Hire:
  • ARRT (Sonography) or
  • ARDMS (OB/GYN and Abdomen)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Required Within 1 Year:
  • ARDMS RVT or
  • ARRT Vascular Sonography

Skills & Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of ultrasound principles and physics
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Calm, flexible, and patient-focused approach
  • Clear verbal and written communication
  • Understanding of age-specific patient needs across the lifespan
