Industrial Electrician- Weekend
Position Overview
Position Purpose
This Industrial Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving electrical and control systems that support manufacturing operations. This role helps ensure safe, reliable, and efficient equipment performance while supporting production, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Position Expectations
The Electrician is expected to perform assigned duties with a strong focus on:
  • Safe work practices following OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, and facility safety requirements
  • High-quality workmanship delivered with a customer-service mindset
  • Compliance with established maintenance standards and best practices
  • Continuous development of technical skills and equipment knowledge
  • Effective communication regarding troubleshooting findings, repair needs, and improvement opportunities
  • Supporting teamwork and collaboration across maintenance and operations
Key Responsibilities
Maintain Electrical & Automation Systems
Perform maintenance, repair, and installation activities on a variety of manufacturing equipment and systems, including:
  • Motors and motor controls
  • Electrical distribution systems
  • MCCs, drives, inverters, converters, and reactors
  • PLCs and industrial control systems
  • Robotics and automation equipment
  • Facility electrical systems
Troubleshoot & Repair Equipment
Diagnose and resolve electrical, control, and process-related equipment issues affecting safety, quality, or production.
  • Identify root causes of equipment failures
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Perform testing and verification of repairs
  • Document findings and recommend improvements
Perform Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
Support and execute maintenance activities designed to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Complete preventive maintenance inspections and tasks
  • Repair or replace components based on equipment condition
  • Assist with maintenance planning and documentation updates
  • Use CMMS systems to manage work orders and maintenance records
Support Projects & Continuous Improvement
Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and reliability initiatives.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
  • Arc Flash Awareness

Technical Skills
  • Electrical troubleshooting and repair
  • Reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation

  • Basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics
Tools & Technology
Experience using tools such as:
  • Digital Multimeters (DMMs)

Qualifications
Required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous electrical maintenance, industrial electrician, or related technical experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Preferred
  • Manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience
  • Technical school, apprenticeship, military, or vocational training in electrical systems
  • Experience with PLCs, VFDs, robotics, automation, or industrial control systems
  • Electrical certifications or related technical credentials
