Wire/Cable Soldering & Assembling / Cable Assembler III
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cable Assembler Level III for a contract opportunity in Poway, CA supporting advanced aerospace and defense manufacturing. This role is ideal for a skilled hands-on assembler who enjoys precision electronic assembly, detailed wiring, soldering, cable harnessing, and working to exact engineering specifications.
As a Cable Assembler Level III, you will join a high-performing production environment focused on quality, safety, teamwork, and technical excellence. The team values clear communication, strong workmanship standards, and collaboration between production, quality, and engineering. This is a strong opportunity for candidates who want steady manufacturing work, flexible shift options, and the chance to contribute to mission-critical electronic and defense-related systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble cables, wire harnesses, chassis, printed circuit boards, panels, LRUs, batteries, servo motors, and related electronic or mechanical assemblies.
- Perform soldering, wiring, crimping, component installation, setup, adjustment, disassembly, rework, and reassembly according to specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, work instructions, wire lists, and specifications.
- Inspect completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards, workmanship requirements, safety procedures, and production expectations.
- Use soldering equipment, hot tweezers, calipers, tape measures, gauges, and hand tools safely and accurately.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to troubleshoot assembly issues and support continuous improvement.
Compensation and Benefits
- Location: Poway, CA.
- Shift options: 1st shift, 5:00 AM to 2:30 PM, or 2nd shift, 3:00 PM to 12:30 AM.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Assemble electronic and mechanical assemblies, including cables, wire harnesses, chassis, and PCBs.
- Perform precision soldering, wiring, crimping, component installation, rework, and repair.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, wire lists, and work instructions.
- Support inspection, troubleshooting, documentation, and production quality requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3 or more years of relevant assembly experience required.
- Experience with cable assembly, wire harness assembly, PCB assembly, component installation, and electronic rework.
- Skilled in hand soldering, compression connection tools, soldering stations, hot tweezers, hand tools, calipers, gauges, and tape measures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, blueprints, and wire lists.
- Basic computer skills relevant to production documentation and manufacturing processes.
- Good visual perception, including ability to distinguish colors.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work extended hours when required.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Soldering certification.
- Previous aerospace, defense, electronics manufacturing, or high-reliability assembly experience.
- Experience assisting or training lower-level assemblers.
- Familiarity with safety-focused, regulated manufacturing environments.
