Job description

Description:

Join one of the world's most respected names in fine and rare wine — right in the heart of New York City. As a Stock Associate at Acker, you'll be the engine behind a world-class retail experience: receiving and organizing inventory, keeping the floor immaculate, and making sure every bottle is exactly where it needs to be. No wine experience required — just a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist checking in product, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processing.
  • Read customer orders and/or shipping orders to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
  • Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
  • Sort and place product on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined locations.
  • File work orders or requests for stock items and distribute items to shipping or drivers.
  • Ensure storage is accessible and safe for salespeople and other team members.
  • Record amounts of product received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
  • Assist in counting of physical inventory.
  • Prepare parcels for mailing.
  • May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
  • Local deliveries, either walking or accompanied by a driver.
  • Other related duties as assigned from time to time.
Requirements:

What we're looking for:

  • Reliable, punctual, and ready to put in the work
  • Comfortable lifting and moving cases (up to 40 lbs)
  • Positive attitude and a team-first mindset
  • Curiosity about wine — or simply a desire to learn
  • Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Why Acker:

Founded in 1820, Acker is the world's largest fine and rare wine auction house — and our New York store is where it all started. No wine background needed; we'll give you the tools and environment to grow. With a team that's passionate about what they do and a product unlike any other, this is more than a stock job — it's the start of something.
