As a Glass Installer on the Portland Glass team, a typical day will include:

  • Installing flat and/or automotive glass with precision and adherence to industry standards
  • Interpreting blueprints and specifications to ensure accurate and high-quality installations
  • Following all safety protocols to ensure proper handling of glass and materials
  • Operating a company vehicle in a safe, professional, and responsible manner
  • Communicating clearly and confidently with customers to explain installation processes
  • Managing a dynamic workload that combines hands-on technical work with light administrative responsibilities

(Required Qualifications)

  • Prior glass installation experience preferred; 3+ years of carpentry experience required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand and power tools
  • Solid carpentry skills, including:

Accurate measurement and tape reading

Safe operation of power tools

Ability to read and interpret blueprints

Understanding of basic construction math

  • Comfortable using technology, including computers, mobile devices, and office systems
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening (in accordance with state laws)
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds
