Position Summary

The Welder Instructor is responsible for imparting industry-specific welding knowledge and technical skills to employees, driving both individual and organizational development. This role encompasses the design and delivery of effective, hands-on training programs, facilitation of instructional workshops, evaluation of trainee performance, and continuous refinement of course content to ensure optimal learning outcomes and adherence to industry welding standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop structured welding training programs tailored to the needs of new hires and current employees
  • Conduct hands-on training sessions and workshops covering welding techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and modify curriculum and delivery methods as needed to improve outcomes
  • Collaborate with department managers to identify skill gaps and training needs, and develop targeted solutions
  • Stay current on industry trends, welding codes, and best practices in employee training and development
  • Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to employees to support their technical growth and career development
  • Manage training materials and resources, including training manuals, presentations, and audiovisual/welding equipment
  • Track and report on employee training progress and completion to management

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree, or relevant welding certification combined with equivalent industry experience
  • Proven experience as a welding instructor, trainer, or in a similar instructional role
