Job Title: Fabrication Supervisor
Job Description
Lead weekend welding and fabrication operations by assigning work, developing employees, maintaining safety, and ensuring products are completed on schedule, within budget, and to established quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise weekend welding and fabrication activities to ensure production goals are met safely, on time, and within budget.
- Assign daily work tasks to fabrication and welding teams based on production schedules and priorities.
- Develop, coach, and train team members in welding techniques, fabrication processes, and best practices.
- Maintain high standards of product quality by monitoring work, providing feedback, and implementing process improvements.
- Oversee production scheduling to align workforce, materials, and equipment with customer and internal deadlines.
- Manage materials and consumables, including inventory oversight and ensuring the right materials are available at the right time.
- Promote and enforce safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE and adherence to hot work, crane, forklift, and lockout/tagout requirements.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and support lean manufacturing practices.
- Ensure professional conduct and strong teamwork across a group of 20 or more employees.
- Monitor shop floor workflow, equipment utilization, and material handling to optimize throughput and minimize downtime.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated leadership experience with coaching, training, delegation, accountability, and team development.
- Proven ability to manage teams of 20 or more employees while maintaining productivity, quality, safety, and professional conduct.
- Strong knowledge of welding and fabrication processes, including production workflow and equipment capabilities.
- Understanding of materials, inventory, and consumable management in a production environment.
- Experience in production supervision and production scheduling within a fabrication or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to train employees in welding techniques and fabrication best practices.
- Solid management skills with a focus on organization, communication, and problem solving.
- Ability to enforce PPE usage and comply with hot work, crane, forklift, and lockout/tagout safety procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with lean manufacturing practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with 5S or 6S workplace organization and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Process improvement within fabrication or production environments.

Work Environment
This is a production-based role on a weekend shift (Thursday through Sunday) with day shift hours, working primarily on a shop floor that is not environmentally controlled. The position involves regular exposure to welding and fabrication activities, material handling operations, and the use of hand tools, power tools, and various shop equipment. The role requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, crouch, grip, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed while working safely around active industrial processes and equipment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
