In this role, you will be hands-on with the equipment that keeps our production runningensuring our systems operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.From cheese processing to packaging, your work will directly impact product quality, equipment reliability, and overall plant performance. This position plays a critical role in supporting daily production operations and maintaining the high standards of safety and quality expected at Los Altos Foods.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSPerform preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment and systems, including mechanical and electrical components.Weld and fabricate parts to repair, modify, or improve production equipment and machinery.Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to support equipment installations and modifications.Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.Inspect systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and repair needs.Repair or replace defective equipment, electrical wiring, mechanical components, and related systems.Analyze equipment failures and support both preventive and emergency maintenance efforts.Monitor system performance using gauges, meters, and testing instruments.Maintain spare parts inventory and recommend tools, equipment upgrades, and process improvements.Document maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and technical reports accurately.Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing efficiency, reliability, capability, and yield.Assist senior technicians and collaborate closely with production and sanitation teams.Follow all GMP, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.Perform additional duties as assigned by Maintenance leadership.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving technical problems, and playing an important role in producing high-quality cheese and dairy products enjoyed nationwide.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.1 2 years of experience in welding, fabrication, and blueprint reading.Basic mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Strong verbal and written communication skills.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSTechnical certification in Industrial Maintenance or related field.Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Bilingual in English and Spanish (read, write, and speak).KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.Hands-on experience with welding and fabrication in a manufacturing environment.Understanding of mechanical systems and maintenance practices.Ability to diagnose equipment issues and implement effective repairs.Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.Commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.Frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, and occasional crawling.Ability to lift at least 10 lbs and work around moving machinery.Exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, fumes, and varying noise levels.Comfortable working in temperatures ranging from 35F to 95F+ in production areas.Flexibility to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and various shift schedules (1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts).BENEFITS401(k) with company matchMedical, dental, and vision insuranceLife insuranceFlexible Spending Account (FSA)Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Paid time off (PTO) and parental leaveReferral programCareer growth opportunities within a global food manufacturing organizationHands-on role supporting the production of high-quality cheese and dairy pro
