  • Diagnostics & Repairs: Diagnose failures and perform high-quality repairs on mechanical, electrical, structural, and tank piping/valve systems.

  • Brakes & Suspension: Inspect, service, install, and repair trailer suspension systems and air brake systems.

  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all structural repairs and testing align perfectly with federal hazmat safety standards; maintain meticulously detailed inspection logs.

  • Safety & Environment: Follow all OSHA and confined space safety procedures while maintaining a clean, organized shop floor.

  • Welding (Plus): TIG welding experience (aluminum, stainless steel, or carbon steel) is highly preferred to align with our shop's ASME "R" Stamp capabilities.

Qualifications
  • DOT Inspection Certification Required (Meets FMCSA criteria for a Registered Cargo Tank Inspector).

  • Experience: 2+ years of dedicated tank trailer repair and testing experience preferred (ideal candidate has 3–5 years).

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep familiarity with DOT HM183 cargo tank testing requirements (V, I, L, P, T, K testing methodologies).

  • System Mechanics: Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing heavy-duty air brake systems, suspensions, and industrial piping.

  • Quality Focus: Ability to read, understand, and execute repairs according to technical manuals, blue-prints, and federal compliance standards.

Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (and occasionally up to 75 lbs with assistance).

  • Ability to safely enter, exit, and work inside tank trailer manholes (Confined Space environment).

  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in physically demanding shop conditions.
