Description:

The Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding and repairs on aviation components in accordance with OEM technical publications, Unilode’s MOE (Maintenance Organisation Exposition), and industry regulations. This role ensures the structural integrity and serviceability of ULDs, pallets, and containers, supporting MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) operations to meet production targets while maintaining safety and compliance standards.


Key Responsibilities:

Perform Welding and Structural Repairs

Customer Focus, Collaborate

  • Carry out MIG/TIG welding and metal fabrication repairs on ULDs and pallets.
  • Ensure all welding work meets OEM specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct inspections of repaired components, ensuring durability and quality compliance.

Maintain Compliance with Safety and Operational Standards

  • Follow approved welding procedures and safety protocols at all times.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of welding tools and equipment.
  • Identify and escalate any non-conforming materials or welding defects.

The Small Print:

Requirements:

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Certification in MIG/TIG welding (or equivalent qualification).
  • Minimum 1 year of welding experience, preferably in aviation, manufacturing, or heavy industry.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and work from engineering specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality control, and process compliance.
  • Physically capable of lifting, pulling, and pushing weights exceeding 65 lbs.
