POSITION SUMMARY  

Use hand-welding or flame cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions:

  • Comply with safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and regulations. 
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt component parts. 
  • Remove rough spots from work pieces, using portable grinders, hand files or scrapers. 
  • Feather or remove tacks using electric or pneumatic, grinders prior to weldingbeading pass. 
  • Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter, using hand scrapers or power chippers, portable grinders, or arc-cutting equipment. 
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. 
  • Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits. 
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes,such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc,and submerged arc welding. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

POSITION LEVELSAND EXPERIENCE

WELDER I: 

  • 1-2 years of pipe welding experience 
  • General knowledge of tools, equipment, blueprints, models, and technical plans 
  • General knowledge of machines, designs, repair, and maintenance 
  • Maintain a rejection rate of 5% or below. 

WELDER II: 

  • 2-3years of pipe welding experience 
  • Extensive knowledge of designtechniques, production of technical plans, blueprints, models, and drawings 
  • Extensive knowledge of materials, methods, and principals involved in the production of precise technical designs, uses and maintenance. 
  • Must possess the ability to perform at least three (3) processes. 
  • Maintain a rejection rate of 4% or below. 
  • Must be able to perform inmostbays. 

WELDER III: 

  • 3-4plus years of pipe welding experience 
  • Expert knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance. 
  • Expert knowledge of design techniques, methods, production of precision technical plans, blueprints, and drawings 
  • Must possess the ability to perform and be efficient in three (3) processes. 
  • Maintain a rejection rate of 3% or below. 
  • Must be able to perform in all bays. 

WELDER IV: 

  • 5 plus years of pipe welding experience 
  • Expert knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance. 
  • Expert knowledge of design techniques, methods, production of precision technical plans, blueprints, and drawings 
  • Must possess the ability to perform and be efficient in three (3) processes. 
  • Maintain a rejection rate of 3% or below. 
  • Must be able to perform in all bays. 

Education:  High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred   

Experience:  1 plus years of experience in Welding  

Computer Skills:  Not applicable.
