Our Field Infusion Nurses are an essential part of that mission. We work collaboratively with patients, families, specialty pharmacies, providers, and members of the healthcare team to provide continuity of care throughout each patient's treatment journey.

We are seeking experienced and dependable Registered Nurses who are confident in their clinical abilities, passionate about one-on-one patient care, and comfortable working independently in the field.


Position Summary

The Field Specialty Infusion Nurse (RN) provides direct nursing care to patients receiving prescribed infusion therapies in their homes or other approved settings.


The RN is responsible for assessing the patient, establishing and maintaining appropriate vascular access, administering prescribed therapies, monitoring the patient's response to treatment, providing patient and caregiver education, and completing accurate clinical documentation.


This is a per diem field position with a variable schedule based on patient census and clinical needs. There are no guaranteed or fixed weekly hours.


Patient assignments may vary by location, treatment schedule, referral volume, and nurse availability. We are seeking nurses who value per diem work and are able to accommodate patient visits as assignments become available.

Weekend availability is required, with additional weekday opportunities available based on patient needs and census.

Essential Responsibilities


The Field Specialty Infusion Nurse will:

  • Provide safe, high-quality infusion therapy according to physician orders, pharmacy protocols, and the established plan of care.
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments before, during, and following treatment.
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency with peripheral IV insertion and vascular access management.
  • Administer prescribed specialty therapies, which may include IVIG, biologics, IV antibiotics, hydration, and other specialty medications.
  • Access and manage PICC lines, implanted ports, and other vascular access devices when within the nurse's demonstrated competency and assigned plan of care.
  • Closely monitor patients for therapeutic response, adverse reactions, and changes in clinical condition.
  • Recognize potential infusion reactions and initiate appropriate interventions according to established orders and emergency protocols.
  • Educate patients and caregivers regarding prescribed therapy, medications, potential side effects, vascular access care, and treatment expectations.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and professional clinical documentation for each patient visit.
  • Communicate significant changes in patient condition to the appropriate provider, pharmacy, and clinical team.
  • Coordinate with patients, caregivers, pharmacies, physicians, and other members of the care team to support continuity of care.
  • Properly handle, inspect, and manage infusion medications, supplies, pumps, and other equipment.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
  • Follow Yemaya Home Health LLC policies and procedures as well as applicable federal, state, professional, and clinical standards.
  • Maintain required competencies, certifications, training, and continuing education.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, compassion, and sound independent clinical judgment while representing Yemaya Home Health LLC in the field.

Scheduling & Availability

This is a per diem position and does not offer a set or guaranteed weekly schedule.

Patient visits are assigned according to patient census, treatment needs, geographic location, and nurse availability.

Candidates should understand that:

  • Weekend availability is required.
  • Weekday availability is strongly preferred.
  • Patient visit times and durations may vary.
  • Weekly hours may fluctuate depending on patient census.
  • There are no guaranteed minimum weekly hours.
  • Nurses may be offered additional assignments as patient census and coverage needs increase.
  • Field nurses must be willing and able to travel to patients within their designated service area.
  • Flexibility and dependability are essential to this position.
Requirements:

 Required Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Strong proficiency and demonstrated competency with peripheral IV insertion.
  • Hands-on IV therapy experience.
  • Ability to perform patient assessments and recognize changes in clinical condition.
  • Strong clinical documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise appropriate clinical judgment in a home environment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Reliable transportation and current automobile insurance.
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned service area.
  • Ability to meet all applicable onboarding, credentialing, competency, and compliance requirements.
  • Weekend and Flexibilty scheduling availability.

Preferred Qualifications

We are especially interested in nurses with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • IVIG administration
  • Specialty infusion therapy
  • Biologic therapies
  • IV antibiotics
  • Hydration therapy
  • Peripheral IV insertion
  • PICC line management
  • Implanted port access
  • Infusion pumps
  • Home infusion
  • Infusion centers
  • Oncology or hematology
  • Acute care or other specialty nursing environments

Previous home or specialty infusion experience is strongly preferred.
