Job description

VSE Aviation is seeking enthusiastic, ambitious people for our facility in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  VSE Aviation is a world renowned provider of jet engine maintenance, hospital repair and AOG on-wing services.

Job Summary:

The Engine Technician repairs and troubleshoots customer’s engines either in Vortex’s on-site or on-wing service.  Accuracy with repairs and troubleshooting is imperative.  This role supports airworthiness in accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration, CFR 14, Part 145. This is a FAA DOT regulated safety sensitive position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • On-wing Borescope
  • Boroblending repairs
  • Engine removal and installation
  • Troubleshooting
  • Quick Engine Kit (QEC) removal & installation
  • Engine disassembly, inspection, and repair
  • Ability to read and interpret manual, diagrams and work cards
  • Ability to work independently with limited support

You will be eligible for a one-time sign-on bonus of $2,000, subject to applicable taxes and payable within 2 pay periods following successful completion of your 90-day introductory period. This bonus is contingent upon your active employment status at the time of payment. If you voluntarily resign or are terminated for cause within [12 months] of your start date, you agree to repay the full amount of the sign-on bonus within 30 days of your separation date.

Education and/or Experience

  • The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5+ year Engine Maintenance experience and repair experience.
  • Oral and written command of the English language is required
  • Valid  Driver’s License and Passport is required
  • Willingness to travel extensively to support global field service operations
  • Work overtime and weekends on limited notice
  • Working knowledge of precision measuring tools, calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Computer literacy
  • Power plant certificate
  • Engine BSI experience (example: CFM56-All, CF6-80-All, CF34-All, PW4000/2000, GenX, GE90, and RB211) is preferred.

  • The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
