Join a dynamic and innovative 36-bed Medical/Surgical unit that cares for a diverse patient population, including general medical-surgical patients, post-operative orthopedic patients, and trauma patients recovering from injuries such as hip and ankle fractures. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting patient recovery through hands-on care, including vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, ambulation, repositioning, and assisting with mobility goals. This unit is proud to serve as HonorHealth's pilot site for Virtual Nursing and Virtual Sitter programs, leveraging advanced technology to enhance patient safety, reduce falls, and improve the patient experience. Whether you are new to healthcare, new to acute care, or looking to grow your clinical skills, this team welcomes individuals with a passion for learning, strong communication skills, compassion, and a positive attitude. Technical skills can be taught-we are looking for team members who are engaged, patient-focused, and committed to delivering exceptional care while making a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients every day.

This position is afull-time Day shift working with 3-12 hour shifts from 6:00 AM-6:30 PM.

We offer self-scheduling for shift and weekend coverage. Scheduled workdays may vary, as there are no set or fixed days.

Weekend and Holiday Rotations are required in this role. Weekend shift differentials are offered, along with evening and night shift differentials where applicable.

Responsibilities:

Job Summary
Provides patient related care tasks based on the principles of growth and development across the life span of patients served in his/her independent unit. Assists, observes, and reports patient changes to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation relative to the care delivered.
Essential Functions
  • Provides and collaborates direct patient care services under the direct supervisor of a licensed caregiver. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs, intake and output, ambulation, interventions, and implementation of selected portions of the patient care plan as directed under supervisor of nurse.
  • Assists, observes and reports changes in patient condition to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation in relation to the care delivered.
  • Addresses and/or directs questions or concerns from patients, families, caregivers, or health care team members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED - Required
Experience
  • Completion of Block 1 in Nursing OR Medical Assistant (MA) OR Nursing Assistant (NA) OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) OR Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) OR 6 months of experience in the healthcare setting within the last year - Required
  • 6 months in acute care experience. - Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Preferred
  • Clinical Other\EMT - Emergency Medical Tech - Preferred
