Job description

Branson Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our team! This is a full-time position and will require weekend coverage. Top consideration will be given to those with veterinary experience; however, we’re open to training and will consider all candidates with relevant/transferrable skills.

In this role, you will provide assistance to Veterinary Technicians and Veterinarians, including gentle animal handling and restraint during outpatient procedures such as physical exams, vaccines, and blood draws. You will prepare and clean patient areas throughout the day including exam rooms and procedural/treatment areas, anticipating team needs and ensuring preparedness and efficiency. This is an ideal position for efficient multi-taskers who enjoy a supportive role in a team-oriented environment.

Schedule: This is a full-time, position, with a 3/10 or 4/10- and 1/5-hour schedule and availability needed Monday-Saturday (every other). Sunday Kennel duty every 2-3 weeks on rotation.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

  • 0-1 of veterinary assistant experience in a clinical setting
  • Proficiency in the following skills:
    • Client communication and education
    • Restraint techniques
    • Exam room management
    • Outpatient assisting
    • Medication administration
