Location: Bay Area, CA (Regional Project Coverage)

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday โ€“ Friday (Occasional extended hours or weekends based on project timelines)

Project Scope: Heavy Civil Construction, Site Development, and Underground Utilities

Pay Range: $120,000 โ€“ $150,000 per year (Salary DOE)

The Opportunity

Command the Complete Project Lifecycle in a High-Value Market.

BRIXCO Construction, Inc. is seeking a high-caliber Civil Project Manager & Senior Estimator to serve as a central operational leader in the Bay Area. Specializing in large-scale civil infrastructure, complex utility networks, and comprehensive earthwork packages, our firm delivers high-performance results for residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.

This hybrid, "cradle-to-grave" management position is designed for a strategic professional who can command both front-end preconstruction forecasting and back-end field execution. You will hold full ownership of million-dollar budgets, logistical coordination, multi-trade scheduling, and client relations. If you are a driven construction leader looking for a forward-thinking firm that trades corporate monotony for true professional growth, competitive pay, and exceptional perks, BRIXCO Construction provides the ultimate platform to build your future.

What You Will Be Doing

You will integrate analytical preconstruction engineering with decisive field leadership to guarantee project profitability and structural quality:

  • Surgical Preconstruction Forecasting: Analyze civil engineering drawings, structural profiles, and geotechnical specifications to generate highly precise bids and comprehensive takeoffs for labor, equipment, and material scopes.
  • Strategic Procurement & Buyout: Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate competitive subcontractor and vendor proposals, ensuring absolute scope alignment and optimal contract awards.
  • Risk & Value Engineering: Proactively identify hidden geological, municipal, or logistical project risks; engineer cost-effective, high-value alternative construction methods.
  • Lifecycle Project Command: Direct all phases of active project execution, mapping out master project schedules, tracking resource allocations, and managing builds through to final closeout.
  • Financial Controls Overlook: Rigorously monitor real-time project costs, variance logs, and margins to enforce strict budget compliance and maximize job profitability.
  • Stakeholder Stewardship: Serve as the primary, authoritative liaison between corporate clients, municipality engineers, utility representatives, and internal field supers.
  • Quality & Safety Assurance: Enforce strict compliance with local Cal/OSHA standards, environmental regulations, and corporate quality benchmarks via routine site inspections.
  • Leadership & Team Mentorship: Train, mentor, and elevate junior project engineers and estimators, while fostering strategic client relationships to drive repeat market business.

What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)

  • Industry Tenure: 5+ years of dedicated, combined experience in civil construction estimation and project management.
  • Technical Competency: Elite proficiency in reading, interpreting, and cross-referencing intricate civil blueprints, grading plans, utility profiles, and structural specifications.
  • Financial Literacy: Strong, practical command of construction cost tracking, change order management, job costing metrics, and project controls.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Sound working knowledge of California building codes, local Bay Area municipal standards, and state environmental regulations.
  • Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel); hands-on experience utilizing specialized civil estimating software (such as HCSS HeavyBid, B2W, or Agtek) is highly preferred.
  • Assets: A valid Driverโ€™s License with a clean, insurable driving record. (Note: Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is considered a significant asset).
  • Workforce & Industry Data
  • Recruitment modeling relies on a clear understanding of regional market variables. According to national labor data for project managers and estimators within the heavy civil sector:
  • Gender Demographics: Construction management and preconstruction estimating roles within the civil infrastructure sector are currently composed of approximately 91.5% men and 8.5% women, though female technical representation in California continues to grow at an accelerated pace.
  • Racial Representation: The civil construction management workforce reflects the following demographic distribution: White (76.2%), Hispanic or Latino (11.8%), Asian (7.4%), and Black or African American (4.6%).
  • Market Traction: Hybrid professionals capable of managing both heavy dirt/utility estimating and active field logistics are in the top 3rd percentile of demand within the highly competitive Bay Area market, directly influencing premier total rewards structures.

Compensation & Premium Benefits

We reward precision, bottom-line results, and corporate leadership with an industry-leading total rewards package:

  • Competitive Salary: $120,000 โ€“ $150,000 annual base salary based strictly on your market experience and technical track record.
  • Income Consistency: Dependable weekly pay schedule.
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance structures, plus company-provided safety equipment and PPE.
  • Work-Life Balance: Generous allocations for paid vacation, paid company holidays, sick leave, and paid parental leave.
  • Professional Advancement: Paid continuous training, manufacturer certifications, and professional continuing education tracks.
  • Elite Perks: Access to a company-provided fleet vehicle or a high-tier vehicle allowance, alongside corporate-sponsored events, team outings, and company-wide trips.
