Position Summary:
Play a vital role in keeping the University connected by supporting both Mailing Services and Central Receiving.
This position is a combination of working in Mailing Services and Central Receiving. The primary area of responsibility is Mailing Services; however this position will be trained to assume responsibilities of the day to day operation of Central Receiving on an as needed basis. Mailing Services and Central Receiving ensures distribution of all mail, packages and special deliveries to the entire campus including off campus buildings and some apartment style student buildings.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Individual must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the University of Dayton, which includes maintaining a low-risk driving record.
Must have experience driving a van.
Must be able to drive a box truck on an as needed basis.
Must have the ability to be certified as a forklift driver.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a (4) hour continuous basis and sustain a high level of physical activity.
Computer skills such as Word and Excel are a must and the ability to operate automated equipment such as SQBX tracking system.
Preferred Qualifications:
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
Successful experience working with people from various social and cultural communities.
Knowledge of and sensitivity to a Catholic Marianist work environment.
Previous experience in customer service with the ability to work with all age groups.
Experience working in customer service environment with previous telephone skills resulting in proper telephone etiquette.
Ability to type and send emails regarding packages and letter mail and being proficient with Word and Excel.
Able to work with very little supervision once training has been completed.
Good time management skills are a must.
